MOSCOW, Jan. 29 — Aviation authorities concerned have granted permission to Russian-built Sukhoi Superjet 100 airplanes, operated by Mexican Interjet air company, to fly from Mexico to North America, said the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft company referring to Interjet’s official.

The Mexican Interjet held a meeting with the plane’s producer — Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation UAC – and the co-owners of Superjet International, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft company and Italian Alenia Aermacchi company. The meeting was held in Madrid lately. It was aimed to discuss the results of the plane’s operation in 2013. New Mexico-USA flight routes were agreed to be launched within months.

The carrier stressed that its Superjet 100 fleet demonstrated a high safety departure index (99 percent) over four months of intense operation, with an accumulated time in flight over 2,500 hours.
